TRAVIS HENLINE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR MAIN STREET MORGANTOWN, JOINS PAWV BOARD

At the PAWV’s annual meeting this past September, members voted to have Travis Henline join the PAWV Board of Directors.

Originally from Bridgeport, Travis is the executive director for Main Street Morgantown.  He has a Master’s degree in History and a Bachelor’s degree in English & Anthropology from West Virginia University.  Travis has an extensive career working at West Virginia’s historic sites including West Virginia Independence Hall where he was the Site Manager and Prickett’s Fort State Park where he was a Historic Interpreter.  Travis was also the Manager of the Department of Public History Development at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

When we asked Travis, Why he joined PAWV?  He said…
“Having spent much of my career in public history, I have been privileged to work in many important historic places, immersed in the presence of the past and the power of place.  These experiences fostered a keen awareness of the importance of historic preservation, its role in collective memory, its economic impact on communities and its value as an educational tool, among others. I look forward to contributing to the work of PAWV.”
