Give to PAWV

The Preservation Alliance of West Virginia (PAWV) has been your statewide advocate for historic preservation in our Mountain State since 1982. As a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, PAWV relies on donations to provide its services.

You can support PAWV in many different ways such as purchasing gifts, buying groceries, or giving a tax-deductible donation. Check out these options below, and thank you for supporting PAWV!

1. Become a Member

Donate with Crypto
As a dues-supported organization, your annual membership makes a  meaningful contribution to ensuring the long-term success of the Alliance. Members of the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia typically meet once a year during an annual meeting in September. Due to covid-19, we cannot meet in person, but we are trying to meet more frequently virtually and provide a monthly e-newsletter to our members, as well as periodic mailings to your home or business.

2. Donate + NIP Tax Credits Available

 Donate to PAWV through its PayPal Giving Fund page. This is a fee-free service. All donations are tax-deductible on your federal income taxes, and you will receive a receipt directly from the PayPal Giving Fund Foundation for your donation.

PAWV participates in the Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) and has NIP tax credits available. Donations of $500 or more to PAWV are eligible for state tax credits and a federal tax deduction. You can donate through PayPal or by sending a check to PAWV, 421 Davis Ave. #4, Elkins, WV 26241.

PAWV is also able to receive donations of cryptocurrency. Visit this link to donate -

5. Shopping at Kroger

You can enroll or re-enroll your Kroger Plus Card in the Kroger Community Rewards Program. This program contributes a percentage of each purchase to the non-profit of your choice. It’s easy to enroll and once you have enrolled you don’t need to do anything besides re-enroll every year and use your card every time you shop at Kroger. Learn more at https://www.pawv.org/kroger-community-rewards.html.

6. Leave a Planned Gift

Planned giving, or deferred giving, is a charitable gift made through estate planning.  Examples of planned giving include:
  • Bequests;
  • Beneficiary Designations;
  • Life Income Gifts;
  • Charitable Gift Annuities;
  • Gifts of Appreciated Assets;
  • Charitable Lead Trusts; or
  • Life Insurance.

If you already have a will, your attorney can simply add a codicil, or addendum to it. An attorney can help establish a plan that protects your family and also benefits PAWV. Learn more at https://www.pawv.org/planned-gifts.html.

7. Volunteer your Time

If you have time to spare and care about preserving our shared heritage, consider giving your time to PAWV and its Preserve WV AmeriCorps sites.  There are various levels of volunteer commitments available. Contact info@pawv.org or call 304-345-6005 if you are interested in volunteering. Learn more about volunteer opportunities by visiting https://www.pawv.org/volunteer.html.
