Meet the AmeriCorps: Rebekah

​My name is Rebekah Valentine. I am currently serving as a Preserve WV AmeriCorps member at the Waldomore, which is affiliated with the Clarksburg/Harrison County Public Library.  During my service year, I will organize and inventory artifacts, create an exhibit, assist with tours, and recruit and train volunteers.

This past spring, I graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University with a B.A. in History and a minor in Theology and Religious Studies. On campus, I was active in the history club and had the opportunity to travel to many destinations in Europe. These trips and my college experience furthered my passion for history, which led me to apply to the Preserve WV AmeriCorps program. Attending a Jesuit University that pushed students to serve and become “men and women for others” motivated me to do a year of service post-graduation. I joined Preserve WV as a way to help my local community and state, but also as a way to gain experience while helping me get one step closer to my dreams of working in the National Archives or the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.
