2013 PAWV Statewide Mini-Conference

September 20-21, 2013 — Morgantown, WV

Details & Registration
Morgantown grew along the Monongahela River and its development reflects much of West Virginia’s diverse history.  It is a trend-setter for West Virginia’s historic preservationists as it features a flourishing Main Street community and multiple historic districts including the Downtown and the Wharf and Warehouse Districts. Both districts are revitalized commercial and residential centers and are hot spots for our 2013 statewide mini-conference.  Join Preservation Alliance this September for a tour of the Downtown and Wharf Districts and learn about Morgantown during the Civil War.  Other events include a workshop with historic preservation expert, Donovan Rypkema, and our annual celebration of statewide preservation achievements during our awards banquet.

Mini-Conference Highlights
  • Civil War Walking Tour of Downtown Morgantown and the Wharf with the Morgantown Historic Landmarks Commission
  • Historic Book Sale
  • Historic Wood Windows Rehabilitation Workshop with Statewide Field Representative, Lynn Stasick
  • Full-day workshop with Donovan Rypkema, historic preservation economics expert, at the Monongalia Arts Center.  Learn about using historic preservation to bring investments to West Virginia!
