We are seeking Operations Coordinator to aid in the administration of the Preserve WV AmeriCorps program and to manage the PAWV headquarters in Elkins. The Operations Coordinator will help with a variety of administrative tasks to directly support PAWV’s executive director and approximately 23 Preserve WV AmeriCorps members providing service across West Virginia. The ideal candidate will be independent, well-organized, computer savvy, and conscientious.
The Preservation Alliance of West Virginia (PAWV) is the statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to historic preservation. It administers the Preserve WV AmeriCorps program – the statewide, national service initiative where AmeriCorps members help main streets thrive, help communities capture their local history, and help preserve beloved West Virginia landmarks. The program currently involves 23 AmeriCorps members in a combination of full-time and half-time slots that are assigned to nonprofit organizations and government agencies with history-based missions or services.
This position will be hourly part-time (20 - 30 hours/week) with pay of $16/hour. They will be expected to work a set schedule to be determined during Monday – Friday between the hours of 9 am – 5pm, with occasional weekend activities. This is a flex position between working from home and at the PAWV office located at 421 Davis Avenue, Elkins, WV. Some periodic statewide travel will be required for this position. The Operations Coordinator will be directly supervised by, and report, to Danielle Parker (PAWV Executive Director).

ELKINS OFFICE MANAGEMENT
Successful candidate must be organized and meticulous with paperwork, a self-starter, and must be be advanced in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Google Drive, Zoom and Gmail Nonprofit Suite. Demonstrable ability to learn on one’s own is essential.
Candidate should have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or significant life experience. Prior AmeriCorps experience will be a plus.
The successful candidate must work closely with a wide variety of people, including community members, site supervisors, representatives of partner organizations, AmeriCorps members, and Board members. It is important that the Operations Coordinator be open-minded, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enjoy helping people, be comfortable speaking in groups, and maintain a positive attitude in their work, as well as a calm demeanor in response to stress or conflict.
This position is funded in part by an AmeriCorps grant from Volunteer WV. Due to the funding requirements, applicants must complete and be cleared for work through a two-part criminal background check investigation that includes a digital submission sex offender check and a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
