Attention Members: Nominations Are Now Open!
The Preservation Alliance is an organization driven by its grass-roots tradition. It depends on the feedback it receives from its members to learn about the people, places, and issues affecting historic preservation in WV. Won’t you take a minute to communicate those matters that you would like to see noticed by preservationists around the state?
Endangered List
Each year PAWV compiles an “Endangered List” of historic sites
around the state that are in danger of being lost or destroyed due to neglect,
demolition, or unsympathetic development. If you have a site you think should
be listed on the PAWV’s Endangered List, please send information about the
significance of the site and the nature of the threat facing it. If chosen for
the list, you will be contacted to provide more information and a photo. All
entries should be received on or before the first of April, 2003
Success Stories
This year we will also feature preservation success stories.
Whether former endangered sites that have been saved, or simply well-done
examples of local preservation action, send us the examples you think deserve
special recognition.
Collins Award
PAWV offers an award for an outstanding individual or group who
have shown by their actions their dedication to the cause of and impact upon
historic preservation in our state. This is the Collins Award, named in memory
of Rodney Collins. Mr. Collins worked with special diligence for many years
for the State Historic Preservation Office. If you have someone you want to
nominate for the 2003 award, please tell us about them. Nominations should be
received on or before the first day of July, 2003.
Send all nominations to info@pawv.org (or mail them to the PAWV postal address) and they will be passed on to the appropriate committee.
