MONTWELL WELCOME

Paul Lindquist welcomes tour to 1818 Montwell, his home.

Paul Lindquist, on stairs, welcomes guests to his home Nov. 17 during the Fundraising Tea held to benefit PAWV. Built in 1818, Montwell was the site of the only reception given for Gen. Robert E. Lee in Lewisburg following the Civil War. PAWV President Dr. Robert Conte, historian for The Greenbrier, looks on at left.

GREENBRIER HISTORY LESSON

Dr. Robert Conte gives tour of Greenbrier

Greenbrier historian Dr. Robert Conte gives a tour and chronology of events at The Greenbrier Hotel from its construction in 1913 to the present, plus interesting tidbits on the resort which grew around the White Sulphur Springs beginning in the late 1700s. The tour was part of the fundraising events held Nov. 17.
